Khuza - in search for the missing center

Klaus Heid has been researching the legendary Khuza culture on the Olkhon island in the Lake Baikal. Khuza culture imagines the world as a ring and their life is informed by their constant search for the missing center.

"In 1995 the artist Klaus Heid undertook the first and only Khuza expedition into Siberia. On the island of Olkhon, located in the Lake Baikal, he discovered traces of the mythological Khuza culture. The website takes you onto a tour through the fascinating Khuza philosophy who imagined the world as a ring and whose life was informed by their constant search for the missing center. On the following pages, including 77 mostly coloured illustrations, the findings of an extraordinary research are documented which is based on the suggesto-fictive methid: the everyday life of the Khuza people, their traditions and customs, and the influence of their cultural and civilisatory achievements on the history of mankind. Karl Banghard writes in his remarks: "Khuza is everywhere"."
